Default Actcator pulse count please explain

Hi
When choose linear actcator to move 10 foot prime focus dish.
How important is pulse count i notice some actcator start at 30 pulse other brand like Venture have 32 pulse ,Vonweisee have 40 to 48 pulse count, how important is pulse count?
Would all receiver that have 36 volts output to move the motor ,work with any different amount of pulse count from 30 pulse to 48 pulse?
