Default DiSEqC & Cable

Hi,

Please excuse the "novice-ness" of this question.

I have both satellite and cable, and several locations in my house have only a single cable feed to the receivers/TVs at these locations. Can I use any combination of Diplexers, DiSEqC swicthes and Multi-switches to deliver both satellite AND cable signals to these locations, superposed on a single cable? If not, is there some other technology that would allow me to do this?

Thanks

you can use a diplexer or multiswitch to feed sat and cable onto one coax and then another diplexer to seperate it on the other end.

crackt out,

Default Combining Satellite Feeds on One Coax Cable

Hi,

I assume that the same solution using diplexers applies to combining two separate satellite (from separate dishes) onto one coax cable. Is that correct?

Thanks

No!!!!!

A diplexer will do one analog signal and one digital signal (based on its frequencies). When you are talking about two digital signals, it's a different ball game.

In order to be able to help, you need to tell us which two or more satellites you are wanting to combine and what type of satellite receiver you are using.

If you are using a FTA receiver & standard Ku band / C band equipment, then you can use a regular DiSEqC switch like the WS4120HD DiSEqC Switch or you can use a standard multi switch. You can also use the multi switches with most DirecTV equipment. If you have DISH Network equipment, then you will need to use DISH Network switches because their system is proprietary.

Default Combining Two Digital On One Coax Cable

Thanks for your reply. The two dishes are Dish Network and an FTA (Sat is Galaxy 19). I have a Dish Network DVR and an OmegaSat FTA receiver. However, I only have one Coax cable running from the location where the dish cables come in, to the location where I want to put the receivers, so I need a way combine the two coax cables from the FTA dish and the Dish Network switch output, then split them at the receiver end to connect to each of the two receivers.

Does what I want to do make sense?

Thanks again for your help.
