FINALLY!! Success!
![]() After beating my brains out and going through each and every single piece of equipment (new and old) and finding absolutely nothing wrong with any of it i decided to pull out some of my HAM radio test equipment and check the coax cables, connectors, etc. After running a sweep of the RG 6 cable with my Scope i noticed something not quite right, pulled out my VOM and found an occasional short in the cable near the end and close to the RG connector. Removed the bad piece of cable, replaced all of the RG connectors. I had ordered an Omegasat DSB5700 FTA receiver from Galaxy. It arrived the same day i replaced the connectors. All i can say is WOW!!! I am picking up a TON of satellites!!, C and KU band both. I have not finished scanning the sky yet but so far i am very pleased. My signal and quality strengths are consistantly 90 plus signal and 70 plus quality on both C & KU. The system consists of: Birdview 9.5 dish with Horizon to Horizon DMX741 C/KU LNBF Omegasat DSB5700 Receiver The Omegasat 5700 is one heck of a receiver for the money!. The blind scan feature is AWESOME!. My thanks to all of you who told to me to keep at it and it will work out, THANKS... You were right. I am having alot of fun so far. Rob |
