Default Covering LNB from Snow?

Hi guys; I'll like to get some type of cover or material to protect the eye on LNB Invacom 031 without loosing any signal? i notice the little glass or plastic covering the eye caved in and i believe that the snow stacks there and i think i loose signal because of that, and the dish is on the roof can't go there when there is snow,
during the snow fall i lost signal for a hole day.
I tried a neoprene small bag and lost a little bit of signal Any ideas Thanks in advance.

...........you can put a condom to "protect" the eye of lnbf and cooking spray on the dish, it works for me, not to much snow here but........

I have a similar question about protecting the eye of the lnb. The plastic cover that was originally on mine has shattered. Is the condom suggestion for real ? How long will that last in the elements ? Is there any other material recommended for long term protection (from snow/rain/etc.) that does not degrade the signal......and doesn't require going up on the roof every couple of months. Tx to any proven solution providers.

...of course this is real, but a lot better is to put a plastic bag.

the plastic bag is a good way and you can use it to cover the whole lnb.

Post Covering the LNBF eye

I found that some water jar caps fit just over the lnb eye. Just use a little silicone on the rim of the cap to fasten the cap to the eye of the lnbf rim, ceiling the hole from water intrusion. I did not experience any loss in quality or db's with this technic.
I hope this helps. As for the snow, you can apply a dish heater to the reflector and in term the lnbf will get the benefits of staying clean of snow. It works for me.
