How do I receive Digital Dolby AC3 Audio

I have a Coolsat 5000 Platinum receiver that lists Dobly Digital in the specifications and has both a fiber optic and coaxial digital output. However, I am unable to get any audio from any channels that list the audio as AC3. The channels I am trying to receive are on AMC-21 and are Create, VeMe, and a PBS channel. The video is great but no sound. I would appreciate any help or advice on this. Thanks in advance.

you will need a surround sound system that accepts AC3 the box just pass it through so you will need to hook it up to a surround system to decode by the optical cable or by coaxial cable.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had a feeling that a surround sound stereo system might be the answer but didn't want to go out and buy one until that was verified. I bought a dolby digital/to analog stereo decoder (Gefen) which works great out of the Coolsat for most channels, but when on an AC3 channel just hums. Thanks again.
