Default Dish and Motor mount support?

Hi guys; i ordered a 36" Ws9036 dish and a SG9120 HH motor and before it gets here i want to be ready, i'm trying so hard to secure and plumb the Mount, unfortunately i only can install it on the roof of a second floor apart and is not strait,i have to use one regular mount stand that i got from a Dn dish and i'm using an extension pipe to make it a little longer and I've put already 5 supports that i made of pipes and bolt them to the wooden roof,i hope it will support the motor and dish, what you guys suggest i do so the whole thing wont cave on me.

Thanks Bro.I got today my SG9120 motor and Dish WS9036,
i'm assembling it now need some help adjusting the Latitude and elevation.

On the Motor i see elevation 15 -25 -35-45-55, and Latitude=35-45-55-65-75,

on the dish antenna have Elevation adjustments a small triangle and inside have numbers 0 to 5, Are these O 10 =20=30-40-50?

My latitude Here in Providence Boston USA is 41.6975, and Longitude -71.1415,

in the motor instructions table it says i should put 49 as elevation
and Declination 6.489, correct me if i'm wrong, it also say i use 40 and subtract 6 ,489 and should be 34.376, so if these #'s are correct i should put in the motor elevation 49,and on the dish little triangle 34.3376 since there are #'s 1 To 5 i assume these are 0 to 50?
thanks in advance.

you are on a roll...use the lat side of motor.set it and leave it..for as the dish goes.i like to go to set up page in usals place your long and lat and dont mix them up.than i like to use amc4 for starters since it is close to true south. then u want to go out side and adjust the dish up and down slightly till u get good quality .remember all tp.s dont get good quality but on amc 4 @101 the strong one is 11820 second on the list...this is tp freq 11820 it can get 85 to 100 on quality...now lets say that worked..go ahead and blind scan the channels enc 11 and 12 will be history and boigraphy..now the next one will be galaxy 19 @97 it will have like 458 channels a lot are forign but like three pages deep u will find aljazeera and russia today ,good info there.
if this works for u let me know i got more sats to use
bill

i forgot the 1 thru 5 is 10 20 30 40 50 degrees
your latitude is 41 to 42 hard to see it but just get close so your motor should be barley off the 40,s

on the deviation angle is about truesouth -6 degrees works for me im in south carolina

sorry if im wrong anykind of way just awoken im in the coffee jar now
in set up page set your lnb to universal or standard
10750 freq
port if using switch, depends on type of lnb leniar or circular if no switch and leniar lnb none
in usals longitude and latitude is a must and make sure u set it to west on longitude and north on lattitude

So, you will need to use the "Latitude" side of the motor & set it to about 42 degrees. Don't worry about the elevation side.

Your calculation for the declination is correct. 34.376 should be set on the LEFT hand side of the dish (if you are standing behind the dish). Make sure the small triangle is installed down and not up.

Each tick mark should be 5 degrees.

Thanks man you're a great help i'm about to go up in the roof now. you mean the triangle numbers 0 1 2 3 4 5 are 10 20 30 40 50? and standing behind the dish the triangle longer pointer arrow should be pointing down on the left side standing behind the dish?

also since i have a switch with 4 ports and my LNB is a Quad invacon circular and Linear where do i put it between the LNB and the motor or between the motor and the receiver, because in the schema it says to connect one cable from the LNB to the motor and one from the motor to the receiver and do not talk about switches connections? thanks i apreciate,

Satellite Videos - Technical & Educational Installation Videos -
this may help i dont have a cw anymore .but all leniar lnbs use 10750
all circular use 11250 im not sure how you will set up the rest but if you look in your book it will tell you let me know
here is what i went by when i had one

Make sure the power is OFF at the Back of the CW800.
Connect the cable from your LNBs to the CW800. Note : The LNB input connection is at the Right side of the CW800, NOT the LEFT side like other boxes. ie. CS5000 ( looking at the box from the front. And yes, I made that mistake!)
Hook your CW 800 up to the TV, insert USB drive, then power up from the back.
Go to Menu, select USB Menu
Scroll down to the bin file. ( ie. CW800SVxxxxxxxxx.bin)
Press OK
Select Yes, ok.
Reboot, Yes, ok.
Go into Menu, select System Setting
Select System
This is how mine is setup, your's may be different depending on language, TV screen format, etc.
Menu language : English
Audio 1 : English
Audio 2 : English
Close Caption : Off
Channel No. : SID
TV System : NTSC
TV screen format : 4:3
Recall History : Off ( this is a nice feature if you want to enable it. If you do, when you press Recall it will show you a list of the channels you've been watching)
Auto TP : On
Key Update message : Off
Bev&Dishnet Fullname : On
Press Exit when done.

Select OSD

The only option I changed here was the TimeOut. I changed it from 3 sec to 8 sec. This gives you more time between keystrokes when you're entering channel numbers.
Press Exit, Exit.
Select Accessories
Select Setup Wizard
English, Ok
English, Ok
Select your time zone. For EST, select GMT – 5:00. If you're not sure how to set this, look in the front of your phone book. **** Canada has a map of North America that shows the different time zones and the GMT offset. I set mine for GMT – 5:00 (EST) Press the right arrow to turn on SummerTime. (also known as Daylight Savings Time)
Press Ok
Press Ok again.
The antenna setting screen will appear. Scroll right/left to the highest numbered satellite you have.
Scroll down and enter the settings for your setup.
I'm using ******** 119 & 110, so here's the settings I use:
Satellite Name: 17.******** 7 (119W)
Transponder : 12239/H/20000/5/6
LNB Freq. : 11250
LNB Type : Normal For dish pro set to OCS-DP
22 kHz : OFF unless you use one, then set it to ON
Diseqc Number : LNB 1 Note: LNB 1 = Port 1
Legacy SW : OFF
Motorised System : OFF

When you are done, press the Red button on the remote marked Audio. This will start the scan for this satellite.
The prompt “Only FTA channels search?” will appear. Select NO, press Ok.
When the scan is done, the antenna settings screen will re-appear. Scroll to next satellite you have, scroll down and enter the correct settings for this satellite.
Here's the settings I use:
Satellite Name: 23.******** 6,8 (110W)
Transponder : 12224/V/20000/5/6
LNB Freq. : 11250
LNB Type : Normal For dish pro set to OCS-DP
22 kHz : OFF unless you use one, then set it to ON
Diseqc Number : LNB 2 Note: LNB 2 = Port 2
Legacy SW : OFF
Motorised System : OFF
When you are done, press the Red button on the remote marked Audio. This will start the scan for this satellite.
The prompt “Only FTA channels search?” will appear. Select no, press Ok.
When the scan is done, the antenna settings screen will re-appear. Scroll to next satellite you have, scroll down and enter the correct settings for this satellite.
When you're done scanning all your satellites, press Exit, Exit, Exit.
“Sorting SID” will appear, ( if you chose that option).
When the screen comes back up, press F1 000.
“Patch Enable”should appear.
Power off, then on at the back of the box.
Watch TV.

Once everything is up and running good, I save the channel list and settings to the USB stick that I use for loading bins. This saves re-configuring and re-scanning all the sats each time there's a new bin.
To do this:
Power off at the back of the box.
Insert the USB stick and turn the power back on.
Press Menu
Select System Settings, ok
Select User Channel List, ok.
Select Save, ok.
Select Yes, ok.
Enter your name,( ie. Bob) then press the Red button on the remote marked Audio.
Press Exit until you get back to watching TV.

To update the CW800 with the USB stick

Download the most current (by date) file attachment from CW800 Files , save to a folder where you can retrieve it later. Unzip the "Bin" file from the folder and load it to your USB drive. The Captive Works 800 Files click: HERE

Power off the sat box, plug the USB stick in, and turn the power back on.
Press Menu.
Select Installation, ok.
Select Factory Default, ok.
Select All, ok.
Select No, ok, then Yes, ok.
Select English, ok.
Select English, ok.
Scroll up/down to your time zone, then press the right arrow to turn on SummerTime.
Press ok.
At next screen, “Search Channels”, press Exit.
Press Exit 2 more times. You should be back to the main menu.
Select USB Menu, ok.
Scroll to the new bin file, press ok.
At the prompt, select Yes, ok. ( wait a few seconds for it to load)
At the “Reboot” prompt, select Yes, ok.
When the menu comes back up, select System Settings, ok.
Select User Channel List, ok.
Select Load, ok.
Select the name that you used before ( ie. Bob), ok.
Select Yes, ok.
Press Exit 2 times.
Turn the sat box off from the back, then on again.
Wait for things to roll, then watch TV.

To add another Satellite.

Press Menu
Select Installation
Select Antenna setting, ok.
Scroll through the satellite listings until you come to the first satellite you want to add.
If you're trying to tune in a satellite with the CW800 and you know that you're close if not right on, but there's no signal showing on the Quality signal bars at the bottom of the screen, try changing the transponder. For example, tuning in ******** 119w:
The default TP frequency for 119 while in Antenna Setting is 12224/V/20000/5/6
This is alright for tuning or dish alignment if you are using a Legacy LNB.
However, if you are using a DP LNB whether it be a Twin/Quad or Dual, you will never see any Signal Quality on that TP because DP LNBs Do Not use the Horizontal TPs but rather use a scheme called Bandstacking which converts the Horizontal Frequencies to Vertical ones (25600 - H TP frequency = New Vertical Frequency).
In order to see any Signal Quality while attempting to align 119 using a DP LNB you must change the transponder. Scroll down to the Transponder setting, and scroll right/left to change the transponder to
12370/V/20000/5/6. This is the first Vertical CONUS TP which will give you Signal Quality no matter where you are located or what type of LNB you are using. When you have aimed the dish correctly, a banner will appear above the signal level and quality bars showing the name of the satellite you're aimed at.
If you're hooked directly to the LNB ( ie no switch), power off at the back of the CW800, hook the new satellite up to your switch and then turn the power on at the back of the CW800.
Press Menu
Select Installation
Select Antenna setting, ok.
Enter the settings (LNB type, Disqc Number, etc) for your new satellite.
When finished, press the Red button on the remote marked Audio to scan that satellite.
If adding more satellites, just scroll though the satellite listings and repeat the above steps.
When finished, press Exit until you're back to TV.
Note: If you do add more satellites, don't forget to save your User Channel List as outlined above once you have a final scan.

Other stuff

Backgrounds

If you're like me and you listen to Sirius radio off of DN 119, you can change the background screen.
To do this:
Press Menu.
Select System Settings
Select OSD
Goto Background
scroll left/right and you will see various backgrounds appear behind the menu.
When you find the one you like, press Exit until you're back to watching TV. This background will appear when you're listening to the radio channels and when you're in the menu.

Program info in while in Guide

If you're in the guide/EPG and there's a show you want to see the information on, but there's not enough room in the info panel in the upper right corner to display it all, press Info again and the whole thing will be displayed. To go back to the guide, just press Info again.

Notes:

The USB on the CW800 is hot-swappable, (meaning you don't have to power down to plug / unplug it ), but this time of year the air is very dry which causes lots of static zaps. Suggested to power down each time just to be extra cautious.
