Default Contest

I had to think about this one.
How about the new WS1247 coming in (1.2meter) offset to get Intelsat 707 @ 53 west from my location in the southwest. Just to see Sportsmax on it. Currently am watching 55.5 West with a 10' prime focus 17K degree LNBF. I can't tilt that dish anymore. I do have a few more degrees east that I can go before it looks at a mountain side.

What a coincidence! I just reactivated my 6' solid Jameil Junior dish. The actuator had gotten pretty bad, but I was able to recondition the thrust bearings using BB's to replace the bearing balls that looked like peppercorns.
I fed the signal from the LNB (so old the sun has faded the brand) to my ViewSat VSPro and, lo and behold, I was getting DVB on C-band.
Now I have a 22kHz switch choosing between the big dish (250 ft. away) and my Primestar dish w/original linear lnb and an added three-head circular lnb from a major provider. That branch of the 22kHz switch has a 1x4 diseqc switch to choose between the polarities of the Primestar lnb (yeah, old), the circular lnb, or the dual lnb on my 18" DN dish (that my son found in a trash load).
Everything works fine, and I can even still watch analog on my GI 550i, which controls the bud actuator and the polarity.

I'd like to use the DMX241 to sweeten the signal on that 6' dish. Not to mention that having the VSPro switch the polarity on an LNBF would be cool. I would hope that the NASA mux on AMC 7 would come in with a cooler LNB. I haven't been able to get a lock on it, although 360 North comes in fine.

So... give an old budhead a break. Did I mention that the only part of this equipment I had to buy was the VSPro and the 22kHz switch? The rest I've put together from scrapped equipment - started out w/an LNA and a Uniden 1000!
