Yea, I saw this. He's replacing an old lens cover. (I'm sure there is a more technical name for it). When LNBF's get old the "lens" gets cloudy and affects gain. Some of my LNBF's with white "lens covers" got chalky. This was due to the intense sunlight out here. I scraped of the surface to make it smooth and made sure it was done evenly. It seemed to help.
This make me wonder if it would be worthwhile to take one off and retrofit it with a clear cover (like on the Invacom) & seal it. I might give this a try on an old Samsung one I have.
