Default Primestar dishes

How many time has some asked if a old Primestar dish will work? To me, all the time. Here's a picture of a couple of them in actual use. One is using a Primestar "bullet" type LNBF and the other I have a 7 year old Samsung universal LNBF rigged up on it. There's also a picture to adapt to a standard dish mount since the Primestar's mount is so much bigger. There are other kinds of Primestar dished/LNBF's also.

Default Primestars

I have pointing to 83 degrees (AMC9) and the other to 129 (Galaxy27). Believe it or not out here some people still have them planted in the ground but defunct. I ended up with some with pole, concrete and all! Picked up a real old Directway this way also. I have found that even though the Primestars are Channel Master USA dishes they have metric bolts holding the LNBF on.

I am using the old Samsung LNBF with the Primestar dish to get that. I found when I first scanned that bird it did NOT see that transponder. So, I did an manual scan of 11735 and east/west channels came right in solid but I do see some pixels on a large flat panel. I plan on changing the LNBF to an Invacom next week when I get a chance. These channels are great! How well does it come in at you location?

I get them at about 45 to 50% on the 36" dish and with the 8.5 ft dish I get it at 60% love these old shows i grew up on them.
