Thumbs up Fortec Star Dynamic Free To Air C & Ku Band Satellite Receiver

The Fortec Star Dynamic is probabily one of the finest and best receivers I have ran across. Here are some of the advantages:
  1. Universal Remote Control. This will let you control your TV, VCR, DVD, and the Fortec Dynamic Receiver.
  2. Channel Backup Function. This feature allows you to backup your channel list, the way you are used to it. Then in case you or someone else erases the channels, or if you do a firmware upgrade, you can simply recall your channel list
  3. Component Video Output. This will give you excellent picture quality on your big screen LCD or Plasma HDTV
  4. Made In Korea. Koreans make higher quality products than China or Taiwan. Better product equalls less headache.
I'm sure I can sit here and go through function by function, feature by feature and explain why it's superior to almost any other receiver, but here is 4. What do you guys think??? If anyone else has anything not listed here, please share with us.

Default Blind Search

I think it has a very good blind search. I have this receiver and I am very very happy to have it. I would not change it for another one!!!!

I have 2 of the older brother Mercury II receivers and the picture quality when using the component out is excellent.

Thumbs up

Yeah. They are very good receivers. Makes me wonder why someone would buy something else when a good quality receiver like the MercuryII or Dynamic is around.

I see they have one over there called "Passion" that is HD. I'm interested in it but would also like to see Fortec add a network interface to some model. I found it very useful to stream satellite channels to PC's & stream movies from a network server.
